Feminist Resources

Bad Reputation UK feminist blog, targeting mostly younger readers. Sample post: Secret Diary of a Female Petrolhead

Beauty Schooled US based. Older posts look at a journey through beauty school from a feminist perspective. Newer ones look at everything from workplace safety for nail salon workers (hint: not good) to body image issues.

Blue Milk Australian mother looks at motherhood through a feminist lense. Bonus: Lots of adorable pictures of cute children.

Body Impolitic Looks at body image and sexuality. Might be slightly NSFW (nude pictures, although not erotic.)

Clarissa’s Blog Contentious blog, from a feminist, autistic, Ukrainian (albeit emigrated to the US) Jewish Professor of Hispanic Studies. Mixes politics with feminism and funny stories on very dopey students in her classes.

Echidne of the Snakes US politics and feminist blog. Good for long, indepth posts that seem to smash the patriarchy all by themselves.

The Fbomb Teenage feminist blog, mostly US based. Particularly good as a starting point. Looks at many issues affecting teenagers in easily digestible short posts.

Feministe US based feminist blog. Has many guest posters, so good for a wide range of opinions. Particularly good for posts on sex work.

Feministing Probably the biggest, most well known feminist blog out there. Good for just about everything really. US based.

No,Seriously,What About Teh Menz? Excellent blog on men’s rights. No, not the Men’s Right’s Activists that turn up on every feminist blog and troll it forever, but a real serious look about how the patriarchy has disadvantages for men too.

Pandagon Run by the ever-fabulous Amanda Marcotte, this takes a look at feminism, politics, and also healthy eating through CSAs.

Shakesville US feminism and politics with a hefty sprinkling of pictures of cute dogs and cats.

Sociological Images Analysing images, advertisng, television video games etc through a feminist lense. Has the effect of making you notice stuff in daily life you wouldn’t otherwise.

Teenagerie Run by the awesome Jamie Keiles.

The F Word Excellent feminist blog, specifically UK based.

The Pervocracy Kinky, feminist, sex-positive with a bit of BDSM.

Womanist Musings Radical feminism, with a million guest bloggers. Looks at every social justice issue imaginable. Canada based, and not particularly recommended for a newbie to feminism, as it does rather jump in at the deep end!
